Andy Ciofalo, ieiMedia Founder

Andy Ciofalo (ieiMedia Founder) was professor emeritus of communication/ journalism at Loyola College Maryland, where he arrived in 1983 to found what is now The Communication Department. In 2002, he founded the Cagli Program in International Reporting, a multimedia study-abroad program in Cagli, Italy, which laid the foundations for the Institute for Education in International Media. In keeping with his interest in experiential learning, he was the founder of Apprentice House Press, a student-run book publishing company at Loyola University. Prof. Ciofalo, who earned a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, taught courses in Travel Writing, Book Publishing, Magazine Publishing, Magazine Writing, and Opinion Writing. He taught in Cagli (2002-2006, 2008), Armagh (2007) and Urbino (2010 & 2011).
