Payment, Cancellation, and Refund Policy

Study Abroad programs require extensive, detailed advance planning. Because commitments for hotels, cooperating agencies and organizations are frequently done months in advance of the trip, it is essential that students be aware of their financial commitments when signing up for a program. The refund policy as outlined below will be strictly adhered to in order to ensure consistency and fairness.

  • If you decide to withdraw from a program, you must notify our Admissions office (admissions@ieimedia.com) and your program director immediately in writing.
  • If you withdraw before March 1, ieiMedia will refund all but $400 and $50 application fee.
  • If you withdraw between March 1 and April 1, ieiMedia will refund all but $1,400 and $50 application fee.
  • If you withdraw after April 1, none of the fees will be refunded, but you may request a partial credit toward the program tuition for the following year.
  • If you require a visa and the visa application is denied, ieiMedia will refund the entire program fee upon receiving proof of visa denial, prior to March 1.
  • If a medically certified illness prevents your participation, you will forfeit the application fee plus any payments made on your behalf that are non-recoverable. No refunds can be made after May 1, but you may request a partial credit toward program admission for the following year.

Transfer Policy

If a student decides on their own to transfer to a different ieiMedia Project (not driven by Waitlist status, project closure, etc.), the refund policy is still applicable for the project you are exiting with the following additional stipulations:

  • You must request to make this change via email to admissions@ieimedia.com.  The date of the request will be important for handling the transfer.
  • There is no additional application fee.
  • It is not necessary to complete another application form.
  • The references already submitted will be used in the application process to the selected project.
  • The capacity for the new project selected by the student must have available space to enroll the transferring student.
  • This the Payment, Cancelation, and Refund Policy is applicable for the project the student is exiting with the exception of transferring prior to March 1st.  The full amount of funds paid will be transferred to the new project with the student if requested by March 1st.

    Please know that it is not ieiMedia’s goal to retain student funds when they are not yet committed to our partners for payment.  That would be against our vision and mission.  So in all cases, verify with ieiMedia if more any of the noted non-refundable amount is possible to transfer to the new project.

Costs and Payment Schedule

All fees noted below are non-refundable for each program.

January 15, 2026 – $400
March 3, 2026 – $1,000
April 15, 2026 – Final balance due
