Graduate Assistants

Maggie Bresonis (2004)
Maggie Bresonis is a graduate of the class of 2004 and a Communication major with a specialization in Advertising and Public Relations. Maggie also double minors in English and Fine Arts. Throughout her years at Loyola, she has served as Director of Publicity for the Loyola College Literary Society; a member of the English National Honors Society (Sigma Tau Delta); a member of the Advertising Club; an Academic Mentor; and a Student Ambassador. This past November, a sample of her artwork was chosen to be 1 of 12 pieces to appear in the annual “Art Students of Baltimore” calendar. She has most recently been working as an Intern at GKV Communications--one of Baltimore’s top Advertising Firms--on a $35 million national airline campaign.    

Scott Davie (2004)
Hailing from the thriving metropolis that is Colonia, N.J., Scott is a graduating senior from Loyola College, and will be receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication/Digital Media.  A self-styled genius in video production, Scott has created many a film during his four years at Loyola, ranging from the silly to the sublime.  Because of the Cagli program, and his continuing education at Loyola College, he is also well versed in writing, photography, graphics, and massage therapy.  After graduation, he plans to go into the entertainment field, either in television, radio, film, or W.T.T.H.  (Wherever They’ll Take Him).  Scott enjoys long walks on the beach, pottery, and bubblebaths.

Julie Dise (2004)
Julie lives in Long Valley, N.J. (a small town in northern NJ, though larger than Cagli). Currently a senior at Loyola College graduating in May, Julie is majoring in Communication with a specialization in Advertising and a minor in Marketing. Julie is a member of the Ad Club at Loyola and participated in the AAF (American Advertising Federation) competition in April. After she sees as much of Italy as she can, Julie plans on moving to New York City and working in the events planning or graphic design field. Julie is enthusiastic about her return to Cagli to share with the students the same exciting experience she had last year.

Dave Gialanella (2004)
David, from Westfield, N.J., is a graduating senior from Loyola College and recipient of a Bachelor of Arts degree. A communication major with a specialization in writing, he has a strong background in creative writing, from poetry to fiction prose, as well as notable experience in nonfiction writing, from personal essays to autobiographies. After participating in the Cagli Program in its second year, he has taken an interest in journalistic writing too. He plans to continue his education in communication at the graduate level, and perhaps move on to study law. Having gained many leadership and networking skills during his four years at Loyola, David looks forward to working with students, faculty and other graduate assistants.

Mike Memoli (2004)
Originally from Oradell, N.J., Mike is a graduating senior from Loyola with a degree in Communication/Journalism and a minor in Political Science.He is the Senior Graduate Assistant and manages the lab under Joel Davies’ supervision. After two years as editor in chief of Loyola’s student newspaper, The Greyhound, he looks forward to his return to Cagli and plans to continue traveling in Europe as long as his bank account allows him to. When he returns stateside, he plans to continue working in journalism, either in grad school or in a newsroom.

Jen Pesonen (2004)
Originally from Middletown, NJ, Jennifer is a senior at Loyola graduating in May with a degree in Communications/Journalism and a minor in Marketing. She has completed internships at The Baltimore Sun and at the CBS News affiliate in Baltimore, WJZ Channel 13. Jennifer is currently interning through her Promotion Management class with the United States Army, helping to create and implement a marketing and promotional campaign for the Army’s new Translator Aide program recruiting Arabic speaking individuals to help in rebuilding the Middle East. Jennifer was a student of the Cagli program last summer and is very excited to be returning this year as a graduate assistant.

Nick Prindle (2004)
Nick Prindle is a graduating senior with an impending degree in Communications and a minor in Spanish.  His schooling has placed a strong focus on creative writing and the short story.  Nick’s experience as a student in Cagli awakened him to the possibilites of photography and photo-journalism.  Following his return to Italy, he hopes to find work or an internship at a small local paper in Minnesota, Tennessee, or somewhere in between.

Christina Santucci (2004 - 2005)
Christina is a rising senior photo/journalism major from Loyola College. She grew up in the Bronx, near Yonkers, and went to high school in Manhattan. With her photo major, she has mainly pursued street photography in New York and some religion centered projects. As news editor of the Greyhound, Christina gets to cover all the fun stories like crime, budget and politics, but she did have some feature writing experience at the Sun where she got to write about puzzle museums. After attending last year’s program, Christina knew instantly that she wanted to return again and help make the experience as good for this year’s crew as it was for her.
